“It’s time that we have a Consumer Czar to call government entities at the State, county, and local levels to determine whether they respond,” said Bramnick (R-21). “The job of the czar is to let the Legislature know if you can get anyone to pick up the phone when you call for help.”

“Republicans, Democrats, and law enforcement came together to support legislation that would keep ‘bad guys with guns’ off the streets,” said Bramnick (R-21). “The bill would keep our streets safe by preventing dangerous criminals from getting out on bail.”

Bramnick announced last week that he would support the legislation, S-513.

Senator Jon Bramnick is supporting bipartisan legislation that would help keep potentially dangerous criminals off the streets prior to trial.

“People charged with gun crimes should not be out on bail,” said Bramnick (R-21). “This will change the law so those charged with gun possession aren’t immediately released to the streets. Keeping criminals with guns detained will make New Jersey neighborhoods safer.”

Under the legislation, S-513, defendants charged with a firearm-related crime would be held while awaiting trial.
